Concert With trumpet Legend Marvin Stamm for a wonderful charity whose exact name and precise purpose I am naturally not exactly sure off at this time. Postponed from September 5 to let tropical storm Hannah pass by.
An evening with Les Paul at Irridium. The irascible Les Paul is riding high and packing them in at The Iridium. ( Broadway and 51st, NYC. Les is now ninety three years old and is sharper than a tack and can still play the guitar! But people really come to see him and hear his remarks about everything. He has some serious, serious history.
I am playing at Shanghai Jazz in Madison NJ with the great drummer Bernard Purdy and some nice people I met recently at the Musikfest in Bethlehem PA. Of course, I can't tell you their names at this time. But they're really good! And you should take the Bethlehem Muikfest in. It goes on for ten days in August and the city of Bethlehem PA turns into a big music party. It's the best Music festival I've ever enjoyed in the US
I rejoin the legendary Barbara Carroll at The Algonquin for her weekly Sunday soiree. It's a great show by a remarkable performer. Barbara's pretty good too.
Record with the irrepressible Daryl Sherman at Nola for Arbors records.
We'll be in the studio for two days knocking out those hits for my old pal, Daryl Sherman. She's becoming a national treasure, this one! Get to hang out with owner/engineer Jim Czak for two days!
I'll sing my songs and enjoy the antics of a stunning quartet--Russ Kassoff on piano, Dennis Mackrel on drums and Memo Aceveda on percussion! Then we eat the best gourmet chinese food this side of Hackensack. I'm kidding. It's great! The best!
